In 1971, Eddie Conway, a member of the Baltimore Black Panther Party, was unjustly convicted of killing a police officer and sentenced to life plus thirty years in prison. Paul Coates, who initially had reservations about Eddie, became a staunch supporter and friend, visiting him regularly for over 43 years. They collaborated on legal campaigns and even started the Black Classic Press to get books to Eddie in prison. In 2014, Eddie was finally released, and their unwavering friendship remains strong today. The book chronicles their lives, work, politics, and enduring bond over the decades.
